My Jewish lady

We meet every morning on the Williamsburg Bridge. Usually heading in opposite directions, but sometimes I pass her and always make the courtesy turnaround and wave hi. As every Jew here in Brooklyn she was completely dressed in the huge black curtain that has remote resemblance to dress, huge black boots and hair that looks artificially weird. Helmet style. They all look the same and no one is different. To step on some toes; coming from/heading to some holocaust camp.

What separated her from the others aren’t just her fast paced walks that seem to be a hidden reflection for workout/powerwalks but also she’s quite blonde. No one else is near blonde. We started out with the simple courtesy nod and the mute, “hey how you doing” and progressed into raised arms and the loud “hey how you doing”. What is more interesting is the transformation of this lady. She started small and began wearing sneakers, “comfy” I thought and felt glad for her and then she stunned us all and actually wore a beige (!) skirt (!) one day. Today she wore her sneakers, beige skirt and a light-blue top. And sunglasses. Yes. Big badass sunglasses, sporty-style. She looks very happy and I’m convinced she has a thing for me and does this in part to impress and connect with me. Although she’s quite adorable in her renovation I think the bond we have now is sufficient.
