Swim fail
Was crushed today in the pool by an Asian dude. Lately the pool has been pretty empty, which must be much due to the weather (everyone wants to be outside) leaving the pool pretty much for yourself.
Lovely.
But today this guy was doing lap after lap. Fast. Smooth. And with fucking excellent grace.
I hate entering the pool at those moments. Most and foremost cause I like to consider myself as someone who looks like he knows how to swim. Swim hat, swim goggles. You know. All you need to be a Phelps. But I'm not. I suck. This technique you're suppose to have when swimming is something I still very much struggle with. I dream of winning the Olympics, but am content if I don't drown.
Today this Asian dude was killing me. Physically, and mentally. It wasn't so fun to swim next to him. A lot of adjusting the goggles to catch some rest, I can tell you that. Fuck.
Need to take swim lessons. Seriously.

Music Friend
My best ally when not killing the music I love to listen too much to right now is Spotify. The fact that one can’t suddenly access it is why I’m happy as a kid today when Fred finally managed to log me back up again from Sweden and I can listen to The National again. But before this I couldn't due to stupid country-restrictions. And it was nice.
But now, I will kill it again soon. Already almost happened to The Shivers. But that’s all Spotify’s fault actually. Since I haven’t been able to listen to anything else, their MySpace (!) page has been my friend in need. Soon Brooklyn Bowling and celebrate Fab. One of the three sports I excel in (ping-pong and badminton and actually volleyball).

Today everything is about the magnificent Black Stars from Ghana!!
Sooooooooooo fucking happy it's crazy. Crazy!!!
You gotta love Eboue
Joker, entertainer and footballer. I can't stop watching this from Ivory Coast's Last (so so so fucking sad) game against North Korea. North Korea's head coach gives a few last instructions to one of his players and... Emmanuel, of course.

It's a decent dribble
OMFG is niiiice. Tomorrow the Matadors will kick Chile's asses. Sad for Chile. Playing pretty well, attacking attacking attacking regardless of the result, not so clever, and glad I don't support them and choke fifty eleven times each game "no calm down, play defense, tactics tactics - we're leading".
And they've won their two first games, on top of the group but can (probably will) be eliminated anyway. Compare that to Nigeria, who could advance despite losing their first two matches (yeah if they'd only had won). Football bloody hell.

The Shivers at Rockwood Music Hall
I had no idea two hours before the show that they were gonna play but it was as easy as quick decision to zoom over. It was a sweet intimate show. Tiny space. Full of people. And singer that I don't have a clue of what his name is was awesome. Funny guy. Entertainer and a voice to die for. Can't find their music on YouTube, but click here to listen to their album on MySpace (!)

Mon chi-chi
So it has gone a week since the immature and way too impromptu decision of shaving of all my beautiful hair. Still feel very wtf but now it’s getting worse. My hair grows very fast. Which is nice and part of the reason I actually did it with the assumption that I’d grown it back again by some two weeks.
I don’t want to look like a fool but on Friday is Midsummer and week after is epic weekend in Vegas to finally see my boys from back home. J a’ Taime. But hair hasn’t followed expectations. It’s growing all right but I think I underestimated 3 mm and the time for its growth. My hair now looks like mon-chi-chi. Leaving me with three options:
These options are awful all three of them. And it looks like number two. But I shaved it just to have it, try it – not to wear it all summer. My amazing hair growth inspired me to cave in to the tremendous group-pressure from my two roomies, not to look like a dork. Not so w00t.

It’s growing all right but I think I underestimated 3 mm and the time for its growth. My hair now looks like mon-chi-chi. Leaving me with three options:
- Leave it (not reasonable).
- Shave it again to ensure a proper looking hairdo.
- Try to trim it back to my old haircut, even though I clearly have too short hair to wear it. This would mean I'd look like a Army haircut (not overly reasonable either).

Best best best
This band rocks my world right now. The National with mainly Sorrow, Terrible Love and obviously Fake Empire. Repeat. I'm killing them. Like I always do with new great songs and artists. But I can't stop myself. It's too tres bien. They're a bit more than just About Today.
Live (we do prefer)
But for some reason proper version sounds better

Not nowhere an official video but doubtlessly something of the best right now
The Shivers - Just Didn't Need To Know from Matt Davey on Vimeo.
But I can't help myself I'm sick I still love you so
Motherfucking awesome
It's very long, but he very cool. Also forever kudos - it's the guy from the Police Academy movies. For real.
UPDATE: OK posted before hearing the whole thing. So it's still awesome, but a little bit lengthy. But for some surreal reason it's captivating and definitely fascinating.
UPDATE 2: It's very lengthy. Want to fast forward, but that would be kinda missing half the point of it.

This is absolute madness: North Korea 1 Brazil 0 (North Korean Broadcast)
— Actual footage from news broadcast on North Korea State Television. Recorded from a TV set in Pyongyang 36 hours after the game finished.
Brazil win but North Korea claim victory.
My favorite art though is definitely after the end (where they announce North Korea as World Chamopions) that their dear leader Kim Jong-il will visit a biscuit factory. You know, as you do after winning the World Cup. Perfect transition.

wtfffffffffffffffffff
Just found out that Band Of Horses had an outdoor concert in Brooklyn today.
It was also like 30 °C outside. (Which is actually way more than I can handle - but for Band Of Horses I'd do 65 °C. Easily.
I am almost certain it was free too.
I was home watching football and then did some retarded work + was just being mere lazy.
If it wasn't that the World Cup was still going on I would most undoubtedly kill myself.

Let’s vote – new By: Beckett logo! w00t!
So I’ve been downloading fonts like a kamikaze pilot (very, very fun!) and released my awesome design skills once again. But I’m hesitant which one to pick (decisions – still my worst trait) and need your help. (This means you Ludde, no one else here but us – but we can pretend it’s one big panther party, hey what’s up, you know.)
Rules are very simple and I will play the role of Kim Jong-il and unfairly pick the winner when the right one has won or destiny shows up and decides for us.
Ok? Tres bien!

Lakers ftw - wtf!?
Crazy side note though. Just now the Lakers won the NBA. I'm rooting for them. I shouldn't. They should be like Real Madrid for me. Big overpaid stars with no heart that are just mere disgusting. But I don't. I was cheering my heart out for them. Weird.
That was that. Tomorrow back to normality and so much football I want to cry of happiness.
England plays. Very interesting. Will they beat the Desert Foxes? Not too sure, but also very convinced. We have Rooney. But I'm most curious whether or not Green will play or not. Part of me really wants to, part of me wants Heart between the posts (as it should have been from the beginning). Yes. Football bloody hell.

Pastis tres bien
Love impromptu things. After a crazu week nothing beats beer + company. As long as it doesn't include work. Tonight Fab called so we went to Pastis for dinner.
Of course the most gorgeous Coco was there. If there's anything I love more than a friend who has a lovely girlfriend I don't want to know.
Table outside was a tres bien idea. Fab's newly grown beard. Well..
Then Fat Cat called so we went there to play some ping pong. Unfortunately their tables and paddles were all messed up.
What other reason is there when I lost against very average player, Fab. (Rhetorical question).
Then we left. I thought we were going to go out, but nope. Felt very mature not to though, so I'm good.

The National at Radio City Hall
Felt pretty epic. Classic venue, awesome band and... roomie Cris. DOH! Date fail. But no, he invited me - so Cris - merci.
Concert was grand, band amazing and lyrics are simple and beautiful. But they didn't play my favorite song, About Today :(
I don't wanna get over you
