“Group Of Death”

It annoys me more than anything. Even before the World Cup draw was over people had suggested, voted and commented on which potential group scenarios would be this year’s "The Group Of Death". Problem is, no one is, this year. This World Cup consists of more evenly divided teams in each group (there are exceptions, of course) than before and should therefor be treated thereafter.

When the expression was coined it was because it was needed – that one group actually consisted of four equally good teams that has, by at least some level, a chance for the title – or at least considered good enough to cause any danger to any team on any given day. This year people refer to the group consisting of Brazil, Ivory Coast, Portugal and - the football-threatening nation we all fear – North Korea.

OK. Not sure where are thoughts, impressions and sympathies are regarding this nation, but whoever claims it to be related to football is simply a liar. Idiots.
