Why is snow white?

Temperature is rapidly declining but I feel very hesitant whether we'll have snow here in New York or not. Not sure what I want either. BUT ENOUGH with the deep thoughts, thy yield, and I submit. So, snitched from here; why is snow white:
"When white sun light hits snow there are so many pockets of air and ice crystals that it causes a diffuse reflection of the whole spectrum scattering every wave length right back at us, and the combination of all color frequencies appears white."
