Apparently this is supposed to be some cool (i.e. weird) visualization of Twitter's history of some kind

Looking at all the nerd's comments I reckon this is totally, totally awesome. Problem is I don't get it. Guess I hacve to learn more about tech/nerdery so I can jizz in my pants too over "Ruby app, Flock, the streaming API, and mobile site." Or the "very cool! when did y'all roll your Scala into your infrastructure? didn't see it, unless i totally missed it ...." as one commentator worriedly asks about.
