Fab Bowling
We all celebrated Fabian's birthday by bowling at Brooklyn Bow. It was fun. Oddly I didn't win even though I looked to be in the lead after half. This is showing a belated bday as you know.

Banksy gets dissed

A graffiti beef is stirring in New York. Renowned street artist, Banksy's latest graffiti work around Soho, FInancial etc has been polluted with... graffiti. Paper Boy seem to be the violator. Not sure we care too much, but I'm kinda curious to see Banksy's reaction. Play it cool or freaking out.
What's actually more hilarious is this over-excited dude who is "heading over to DUMBO to check" and then keeps minute-clocked-precise updated checks-ins at the locations. Almost like the tech-nerds at Mashable and peers who think coming across a potential screenshot of Wikipedia's new interface beats porn. LOL.
This is actual quote from his site:
"We'll be heading over to DUMBO later to see how that piece survived.
Update, 7:48am: Yup, the DUMBO piece was hit, too—Poster Boy again.
Update, 7:56am: In light of this weekend's prolific..."

An interactive portfolio of portraits by Platon of world leaders, with commentary by the photographer. I found this very very simple and nice.

Like Lloyd Christmas’s optimism regarding today’s fixture between Sweden vs. Albania
Lloyd: What do you think the chances are of the game between Portugal and a country like Malta... ending up drawing together?
Skeptic: Well, Lloyd, that's difficult to say. I mean, we don't really...
Lloyd: Hit me with it! Just give it to me straight! We came a long way just to play this game. The least you can do is level with me. What are my chances?
Skeptic: Not good.
Lloyd: You mean, not good like one out of a hundred?
Skeptic: I'd say more like one out of a million.
[pause]
Lloyd: So you're telling me there's a chance... *YEAH!*

CrowdedPartyWeekendHurrah!
Simon made reservation at this place that apparently is hard to get a table at. Splendid, we all love to feel slightly hipper than we are and the entire visiting Swedish crew are going.
Domingo is also having a party tonight, sort of a moving in/housewarming party and they obviously collide. Tomorrow is the PS1 party at Moma and Aramique’s having a BBQ on his backyard, hosted by his friends who invited people from Oregon and LA before notifying him. That we love. We love all parties and want to attend all of the, problem is that they, as good things usually do, collide and fight for your attention all at once.
Phew. So whatever I decide to do you don't have to worry! Know that I’m having a good time and am enjoying myself. Well.

No "Lé Tour Dú Bock" this year, but some US Open
After a great Midsummer-weekend it’s nothing better than to wake up at 6am on Sunday morning. Which are always how all Sunday mornings should start. The rain was pouring down and I really, really hoped the US Open would be cancelled like it was on Thursday.
Realized that was just the glimpse of a dream and I was awake so I got up and transported my sorry ass to Union Square to meet Peter, Oskar, Thomas and Molly and off we were in our rented Chevrolet (very American, thanks) to watch some golf. Greeted by a thick layer of mud we wrestled our way through and entered the area of happenings. As we walked in jam of mud and grass I couldn’t help remember that this is what it must have been at all the festivals I never attended but so very much wanted when I was younger and smiled to myself.
Some found the mud the worse part, but as a true easy-sweater, I would have laid down in it to be relieved of the condensed humidity. Clothes glued to my body with every step. Which is always how any stroll for ten hours should feel like.
Met up with newly weds Daniel and Josefin Lönnborg (HURAAH!) and Elin. The latter showed proof of distinct skills and experience as she directed the way in hasty pace,
Then we enjoyed our Trophy Club passes and embraced the sun when it decided to shine for a bit but Oskar and I couldn’t help to envy the Champions Lounge.
What was most interesting about the tournament was the crowd. It was crazy. Very good crazy. They screamed, roared and clapped their hands like rampant hooligans whenever someone (especially Tiger – and Mickelson (!) did something).

“The moment he has hit the ball we will relocate to green”she ordered and acted like a proper general. A very cute general but in spite of that and the fact that I did a good effort routing and smiling, Tiger didn’t seem to have one of his better days.
Then we enjoyed our Trophy Club passes and embraced the sun when it decided to shine for a bit but Oskar and I couldn’t help to envy the Champions Lounge.
“Bet it’s ridiculous there, free of everything PLUS buggy.”Molly told us that Champions Lounge was very corporate and we quickly relaxed.

“You go, Tiger – you know New York loves you brother!”a very large man yelled but even the cheers for Tiger faded in comparison to Mickelson (is it Phil?) and he even looked teary and touched by the celebrations. This was his first tournament since his wife was diagnosed with cancer and the audience showed their immense national support. Cheesy but I liked it. Think we should always try to encourage, cheer and smile more often. Always.

Amazingness summary
Catching up from last time. Friday. Obviously Erik arrived on the worse possible weekend ever. Indecently a lot to do at work that even made the sun hide from time to time. Physically left work approx five hours after I mentally checked out and united with the group for dinner. Joined the laughs as fast as I could and onto Tortilla Flats. For once it wasn’t as awesome as every single time it usually is. But we managed anyway. Heck, even Calle Schulman showed up and leveled our table from a standing position. Suddenly it was five am and quickly onwards to another place that closed its door in front of us. Squeezed in a mouth of pasta and then home with Erik. Don’t think neither one of us remember the tour of my apartment at six thirty.
Saturday. Woke up and off to lunch with Oskar and Patrik and just as the early party was about to kick off I left for work. “Hard work, focus, no internet and absolutely no Facebooking so we could leave at six” with AK quickly became eight thirty when I met Erik and Oskar for dinner at Felix. They were insanely drunk and I did my best to catch up. Don’t know why but we ended up at Tortilla Flats again and this time it reclaimed its reputation. Suddenly we were all standing at the weird Indian next to Oskar, ordering his vegetarian food and even more abruptly we were in Oskar’s apartment and he and Erik crashed at the moment of entering. Checked my watch and it wasn’t even one.
Sunday. Quickly went back to hang out and meet them both before their flight later that day and managed to visit Dino’s Party Place. A bar where the bartenders wear bikini and nothing more and doesn’t understand English. I was starving and asked if they had food and she replied with a string Russian accent, “yes, lager, draft…”

Royal marriage
Big ba-da-boom in Sweden. Tension about the big game was loudly interrupted. Media-coverage here is exclusively devoted to the news that our crown princess and her farmer are engaged.
Journalists are terminating vacations, published magazine-editions are canceled, reproduced and people are fanatic.
This used to mean a lot. Like, who would run our country and lead our young, brave men to war against Russia, Denmark and other foes.
What it means today is more diffuse. Just that we’ll soon have little farmer’s princesses and princes running around the castle. In other words back to the fifteenth century faster than you can type Google.
* Whatever - he'll never be king.

Bowling miracle
Was at Ballbreaker yesterday to celebrate Gustaf who turned 28.
Yes. He’s a very, very old man now. And yes, I’ll keep saying so for about one more month.
Anyway, what was really important about this evening wasn’t the splendid home-cooked lasagna (I’m surprised, Gustaf!), amazingly nice company or all the laughter’s that accompanied the night all the way to the very latest hours.
No, what was really important was what happened in the beginning when we were still at Ballbreaker’s.
That with my first touch, on my first try, with the very first throw of the evening, I hit an astonishingly beautiful strike.

Bowling and holy god
Got rudely awaked by a friend last Sunday.
"You have to come and bowl today, the girl I date wants to meet my friends", he yelled and I was still too drunk to grasp the seriousness in the situation, and happily accepted the invitation.
We ended up four guys and four girls, or should I say women, cause the woman he dates is none other than a, for Sweden, celebrity, and she was 40+, as we say. And so were her friends.
It was actually quite nice despite my team finished last. Of course I blame it on my teammate, cause after I my first beer of the day, I striked away.
Then, something very, very interesting happened. They invited us to join a Sunday holy moment in church. It was way too intriguing to decline, so we said yes. It was far from what I expected: it was a rock show.
A live band, young hot people, and a frantic crowd. Everything was rather nice, and then you heard the lyrics.
God here, Jesus there. And you started to realize that this is the “new” way of embracing god. The modern way. The 21st century way of accepting Jesus as your pilot.
Afterwards we were all quite…hmmm struck by the moment so to speak and I even had to take a long walk home to digest the perhaps weirdest hung over Sunday ever.

Tokyo Dome City
Took the walk across the bridge over the highway that separates my side from the marvelous Tokyo Dome City.
They have a museum, bowling hall and hot dog inn amongst others. I found the museum to be the most intriguing* and entered.
They had all the arcade games I thought Mtoya!! would have and more.

The kid behind the guitar hero was fantastic. I'll post a video I shot of him, soon.

* Actually I found the bowling hall most exciting, but felt a deep urge to skip the mood of feeling too alone and possibly out-stared.

Mtoya!!
Went to the toy store to lavish through bizarre Japanese toys.
Or so I thought.
It turned out to be the loudest arcade place in the whole wide world. But it wasn’t normal games, people was just sitting in front of their monitors and watched millions of gold colored marbles go down a noisy slope.
Absolutely insane. Just like Tokyo seems to be. In a very, very positive way.

The Dark Knight that became Man vs Wild
Went home in perfect mood for a second view of Dark Knight.
But the film refused to stop jumping in sequences and kept shutting off the audio. I struggled for a good hour but it was too unbearable and I felt a deep urge to quit my life there and then.
Miserably and deeply sad I flicked on to Discovery channel and the bizarre little Brit who keeps eating goat testicles, maggots and finish it off with drinking “the fluids from really fresh elephant pooh” in weird locations around the globe, was on and I smiled again.
He does this with a very strong believe that this information is:
1. Vital for any other human being.
2 Will help some other poor fella who’s left in the desert/jungle/etc with no other option than to lavish on raw insects.
He’s deep determination and pure passion (I seriously don’t think he crawls into the tent to sleep at night nor eat any other food than whatever he finds around the outback, he’s to insane to be fake) of this is contagious though, and – if – I end up in the amazons of Venezuela caught in a muddy river – I know how to use my shirt as a filter to get fresh (maybe naaah) drinking water.
But despite it’s outrageously entertaining, I keep thinking of his camera-crew. What must they not think of him?
Especially late at night with some beers and nice BBQ meat over the cozy campfire, singing songs absolutely hammered.

Office fun
Work on a Saturday doesn’t have to be so damn dull.
Here, enjoying a Chinese beverage.

The black dots are made of black sticky rice. I’m not a big fan of those.
To be honest I feel slight obnoxious when one ends up in my mouth.
