In 1967, Kathrine Switzer was the first woman to run the Boston marathon. After realizing that a woman was running, race organizer Jock Semple went after Switzer shouting, “Get the hell out of my race and give me those numbers.” However, Switzer’s boyfriend and other male runners provided a protective shield during the entire marathon. The photographs taken of the incident made world headlines, and Kathrine later won the NYC marathon with a time of 3:07:29.

Full Marathon was 1:44:21

UPDATE: It was without comparison one of the worst things I've done. It was really cold. Just shorts and long sweater plus tshirt didn't help either. Jesus.

Me at the 40km mark in Central Park
Looking anything but sharp, but hey, fuck it. At this point all I was thinking of is making it under 4 hours. Half of the race went very well. Better than last year. "Ah awesome, 3.30 will be no problems", before I super choked and could barely even enjoy anything. I was just suffering and was only in pain. I even walked when I drank water at the end "Yeah I don't want to spill anything" (which you have done during the whole race until then). I also went to pee around the 30km mark and didn't want to go out. Just stay there and cry.
I had completely given up anything about everything. But the last two miles was sick. Realized I needed to pick it up and from nowhere I found the energy to do so. Last mile I seriously felt like Bolt. I was dashing. Sprinting like a maniac. (Time shows I wasn't tho but it felt like it). Was about to cry when I saw the "800m to go" and felt that was a short distance. "Finally". But when I reached the finish line - completely exhauested - it wasn't - it was the 400m mark. And clock showed 3:58 something. Biggest WTF of my life. So we had to carry on. And we did. Crossing it 3:59:30. Later to be adjusted to my personal time of 3:58:48. Sort of success. Today. 100% pain. But we did it. It hurts so good.

This song didn't make it easy for the coming songs on my playlist this morning
It's so immense. Imagine follow up to this. How do you do it, what can you say? How do you approach it? "Uhm yea... Hi, imma this power-song you used to love before. You even said I was your favorite... No, no, yes...no? Ok."

Chinese men running
They run wearing denim jeans. And shirts. Usually button down shirts. Sometimes they wear a polo shirt. And some peculiar cases wears chinos. This is nothing I say to be funneh, but merely stating after venturing now both East and the West side on me morning runs (more on the East side though). And it goes for every single Asian person running. No exceptions.
Side note: there are sooo much more people running on the West side. Crazy. It's like a community of fat people staying together. (Flock behavior; it's easier to blend in amongst others of the same shape). The roads are also better constructed for active people. They have signs with "Bikes, rollerblades to the left, running walking to the right". I know. Rollerblades. Ha.

Ha. I was actually on my way out for a morning run
Guess someone just had a change of plans and that this same old someone is now sleeping in instead. See you on the other side of the overly-buff side of the gym, suckers.

Basset Hounds look alright when they run
A very intriguing animal and even though its obvious that this particular race wasn't constructed for running, it does seem to love it. You have many more pics heaaa.

CAN
A true story One day a son asks his father: "Daddy, will you run the marathon with me?" The father answers yes and both run their first marathon together. One day, the son asks his father if he wants to run the marathon with him again and the father answers yes. They both run the marathon together again. Then one day the son asks his father: "Daddy, will you run the Ironman with me?" (the Ironman is the toughest...it requires a 4km swim, 180km biking and 42km running). The father says yes again.
Honestly don't know where all these soft videos come from lately, but what to do. This is amazing. Almost wept in front of my computer. Almost.

We have spring here today in New York
People were running in their shorts and tshirts and I rolled up my sleeves and didn't wear gloves in the first time in a really, really long time and I still don't have a gold camera.
