"Hola Dr. Daniel"

My back is in serious pain, I'm on the verge of possibly dying. But I thank heaven, I thank God but most of all I thank Dr Daniel, cause I can finally shed light in this dark tunnel called back-pain.

Another way* to promote batteries

How on earth someone thought of this genius to promote DieHard batteries, we'll never quite (want - that would almost ruin it) know.

But it sure as hell is a great way to infuse interest in a battery. Or like this comment from here manage to say so well that I won't even bother to try to recite him; only quote him:

"Yes, it’s borrowed interest. Yes, the brand advantage is debatable. But honestly, I don’t care. Bottom line—for me—it’s creative. It’s interesting. And I think it’s smart for the agency who came up with this spot to pair up with someone like Reggie to create an interest in a product that isn’t typically associated with “funny, creative or cool.”

This will stand out far more than seeing a demo of a car start up after sitting in the snow overnight. And it’s well crafted. Isn’t that what good advertising is?"

Here's the spot that emerged out of this collaboration:

Woke up to the sound of Alamo

The rain was pouring down and I wondered how this happened. Very odd. The sun‘s been so kind for the past couple of days but then I noticed that my tree I’ve placed o my terrace might actually enjoy this. It might be a small, but a very distinct display of affection from my side when I placed it there. Our other tree, in the living room, was dying; with only one sorry leaf left and to end his suffering would be much appreciated on his behalf. Then laziness showed up and I decided to place it on the balcony instead. Now, a month later the tree is revitalized and blooming like never before.

As I contemplated about this, running felt very much like a poor decision and I changed my alarm and went back to sleep. Or should I. no legit reason was to be found; rain is only wet and things starting spinning inside the tiny little head. “Well I was up at 2am helping Sandra – I deserve a little sleep” I decided and very much leaned down on the pillow again.

Twenty minutes later I realized that too much thinking obstructed sleep and I went for a run. And it was fantastic. Perhaps my best one since arrival. I won the Olympics (still in Beijing oddly enough), Marathon (New York) and even the World Championships in Athletics in Berlin. I was supreme. And wet. Once again it only proves that not a single time do you regret going for a run but always regret the ones you skip.

So that’s how you do it fast!

Been running for a few years now without doing any real progress I think. Kinda like Sméagol I guess (only she went backwards in her development).
I usually lace my boots and go for my run. Cover my distance. Do my time. And then I feel quite content with myself.
And then the big races come. And I’m not that super-fast as either my teammates think (hope) but most and foremost I want.
I’m a man of ambitions and this pisses me off quite a bit.
And now, as I’m browsing through the World Wide Web looking for something entirely different, cool online marketing – I stumble across this.
This is actually something I have been reflecting for some time, long or short stride - which will make me quicker.
The answer is as simple as obvious: run with shorter stride and higher cadence.
That should do it.
Now I’m just puzzled how I’m gonna match this with my stair-running. Convert this knowledge into bodily accomplishment. Trying to squeeze in interval running in the darn stair was hard enough, now this.

Guess there’s no double-step anymore, cause I reckon that counts as a long stride.

Rocky lesson #1

Following Wednesday’s gruel trial.
Nick taught me how to hold my hand inside the glove, "and the importance of keeping your thumb with the rest of your hand - not alone - no, I don't care if the thumb fits in there - you'll break it".

Have you read it yet?

She sits there, scrolling through internet with an expression exceeding Carrie’s quest for perfect shoes.
It’s obviously fun stuff happening on the screen.
You don’t want to interrupt a woman enjoying herself, but do it anyway and asks if she’s read the article mentioned hours ago, yet.
Her puzzled face now far exceeds a very innocent four-year-old caught arm length into the cookie box. Mouth full and crumbs everywhere.
Of course not, she doesn’t even know where it is, so you say it’s in her mail and been there for a while now.
And you've just experienced a close encounter of how not to approach a situation, and you clinch your fist and say, at least it was the last time.

New logo

She designed this one for me, thinking my other one looks too scary.
But I'm not completely convinced.
Of course it looks scary; it's 95% of its daily purpose.
It's a crocodile. A raw, mean killing-machine.
Not a wobbly drawing.

Let’s talk to the main man

Me:
Let's see if he’s free so we can ask for advice and directions.
Louise:
Aohm no, I think he’s busy downstairs.
Me:
No he isn’t.
Louise:
Ah. But I really thought so.
